How to Join

Cadets

I am age 12-18 and would like to join as a cadet...

Prospective cadets are required to attend three meetings before a membership application can be accepted. This engagement provides an opportunity to experience Civil Air Patrol before paying membership dues. During these three meetings, you will be introduced to our members and the CAP routine. At your third meeting, you can request a membership application if you would like to join us. And we know you will!

Cadet membership initial dues are $36/yr. Initial dues should be returned with the completed membership application form to the Deputy Commander of Cadets, who will ensure that it is duly processed.

All new membership applications are subject to a squadron membership application board. When the board approves the new member, the application is sent to the National Headquarters for processing. You will receive a new member kit and your membership card in the mail. It usually takes 2-3 weeks from the time you submit your application until you receive your kit and card. But rest assured, you can still participate in meetings during the processing of your application!

We meet every Thursday from 6:30-8:30 PM (except for the 5th Thursday of a month) Click here for directions to our facility.

Simple Online Membership

CAP is now proud to offer a simple online membership form. This application only takes about 10 minutes and grants membership as soon as the commander or designee approves the application – there’s no time lost waiting for the US Mail.

Senior Members

I am over the age of 18 and would like to join as a senior member...

Before you join, we recommend that you attend a couple of squadron meeting to see for yourself who we are and to be introduced to our people and our operation. Our squadron meets every Thursday (except for the 5th Thursday of a month) from 6:30-8:30 PM.

Click here for directions to our facility.

Once you have decided to join us, you can submit a membership application form along with your initial dues ($63/yr) and a completed fingerprint card. For the security of our missions as well as the safety of our cadets, background checks are required for all new senior members. You will receive your membership card in the mail within 2-3 weeks from the time you submit your application.

Once you are a member, you can begin the process of deciding what you would like to do in the squadron. There are many “jobs” that make a squadron function: leadership positions, administration, logistics, communications, operations, aerospace education, and more. You can also choose to participate in an emergency services role such as on an aircrew or ground team or help in the cadet or aerospace programs. And nothing is preventing you from following several paths; it’s all up to you. You will be assisted in helping determine how your interests can be applied in the squadron. Once your role (or roles) are determined, you will be assigned a mentor to help you through the initial training phases and help you assimilate into your new squadron.

If at any time you need assistance, the squadron staff is always available to help.
